Position Inquiry - Coach Information and registration

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer coach with Berwick Flames Basketball Club.
Our coaches play an important role in creating a positive, supportive and enjoyable environment where every player can learn, develop and build a lifelong love of basketball. Whether you are an experienced coach, a current player, a parent wanting to get involved, or someone looking to begin your coaching journey, we would love to hear from you.
We are seeking volunteer coaches across all junior age groups for both girls and boys teams, from Under 8s through to Under 19s.
We are looking for people who:
    •    Have a positive attitude and enjoy working with children and young people.
    •    Are reliable, committed and able to attend weekly training sessions and Saturday games throughout the season.
    •    Encourage teamwork, respect, effort and good sportsmanship.
    •    Can create a fun, inclusive and supportive environment where every player has the opportunity to develop.
    •    Communicate well with players, families and club volunteers.
    •    Are willing to learn and continue developing as a coach.
Coaching experience is welcomed but not essential. Berwick Flames supports new coaches with mentoring, resources and guidance, and we encourage coaches of all experience levels to apply.
Requirements
To coach with Berwick Flames, you will be required to:
    •    Hold or obtain a current Working with Children Check.
    •    Comply with Basketball Victoria and Casey Basketball policies and codes of conduct.
    •    Complete any club required volunteer registrations or declarations.
    •    Be committed to providing a safe, respectful and positive environment for all players.
